A Few Tips on the Care & Maintenance of Antique Furniture
The following points will help you to protect and preserve your Antique Furniture
Do not put furniture in direct sunlight, after a few months, surfaces will fade in colour.
Central heating dries out wooden furniture, so try to raise the level of humidity in the room.
Protect surfaces from heat & liquids (spilt nail varnish will strip any surface within minutes)
If mouldings or veneers break off a piece of furniture, use sellotape to hold it back in place or keep in a drawer belonging to the piece, until a professional conservator can be contacted. Do not try to glue or nail it back on yourself
